LabsLCD Monitor price test 2006
Sony's SDM-S204E has a minimalist appearance and looks professional. It's easy to adjust vertically, but the sliding stand mechanism doesn't allow the screen to swivel into portrait mode. It has no built-in speakers or USB hub. Colours were generally satisfactory, but in standard sRGB mode whites had a very slight green tint. Our greyscale test returned excellent results, with a smooth, linear transition from light to dark. The D-sub analogue input produced an acceptably sharp image, but we'd recommend using the DVI connector for perfect focus. The SDM-S204E is a decent monitor, but its murky white and lack of a portrait mode are annoying. It can't quite compete with more professional high-resolution displays. SPECIFICATIONS:
1,600x1,200 native resolution, 2x D-sub, DVI, speakers Sponsored Links
