The VX724 is aimed at game-players for whom colour depth and accuracy are less important than speed. Its response time of 5.4ms displayed games flawlessly, although the improvement over 8ms screens was slight. Both DVI and D-sub inputs produced a pin-sharp picture, but you'll have to activate the auto adjust to set up the analogue signal properly. The vibrant colours make this display great for gaming but less so for accurate photo manipulation and, as with Iiyama's H431S, there was flickering in dark areas at full brightness when using DVI. Adjustment options are limited, so the VX724 is not ideal for office use. The main problem is its price: it's expensive given the limited improvement over 8ms screens. SPECIFICATIONS:
