Podcasting is big business, but decent sound quality can be hard to achieve - particularly if there are several of you in a room. Terratec aims to simplify the process with its iQuader stereo boundary layer microphone. It uses a single USB connection and this handles both audio and power. A Standby button, recording level control and monitor volume control are the only external features, along with a socket for a 1/8in headphone socket. The quality is good enough for most standards, and we can't argue with the convenience factor: if several people need to take part in a recording, it's far simpler to plug this into a laptop than to set up a mixer with individual mikes. But the trade-off is that it will never match the quality of that setup - and it's pricey too. By Matthew Sparkes Sponsored Links
