The Akasa Zen is an absolute bargain of a case.

It costs just £25, and doesn't really offer anything more than the Thermaltake Mambo in terms of features, but it does its basic job with much more quality.

The design won't be to every taste (the transparent Perspex looks even tackier on the black version) but the quick-release catches on the optical drives are among the easiest to use. They don't extend to the hard disk bays, but you get two 120mm case fans for cooling, one at the front and one at the rear.

We'd always recommend that PC enthusiasts spend more than this on a case, but we understand that many people just want a functional PC. For them, the Zen is a solid choice.
