My own view is that an HTC web page that says a particular phone offers a "rich media experience" doesn't constitute a promise it will come with accelerated video drivers, and so I doubt that the threatened class action will succeed. But by the same token, firms run a big risk if they take public opinion and the power of the internet for granted. It's almost certainly criticism from htcclassaction and reports on various news sites, blogs (and, indeed, PC Pro Real World columns) that's forced HTC to address the problem.
