available in clock speeds up to 1.8GHz, with a front side bus of 800MHz, and a 1MB L2 cache.

Among the more startling, pieces of marketing Via claims new chips will be Blu-ray and Crysis-capable - which should make for some interesting benchmarks in the future.

The chip company is hoping the 65nm chips will help its solidify its position in the booming low-cost laptop market, which it already has a foothold in thanks to its presence in the HP Mini Note.

The company is also looking to take advantage of the new category of low-cost desktop, which is expected to make an impact later this year.

Via has not disclosed the pricing of the Nano, but systems based on the chip should start turning up in the third quarter.
