Kodak and Sony are two of the biggest makers of digital cameras, and their products range from printers and Hollywood movie technology to personal digital music players and televisions.
A Kodak spokesman declined to speculate on the types of products that the cross licensing agreement might yield.

Shares of Kodak rose 38 cents, or about 1.4 percent, to $26.18 in early trade on the New York Stock Exchange. U.S. traded shares of Sony rose 32 cents to $43.15.
